Three possible mumps cases reported in St. Clair County

State and county health officials are announcing the discovery of three probable mumps cases in the local area, including two adults who recently traveled abroad and a student at Fort Gratiot Middle School. The St. Clair County Health Department tells WPHM they are investigating the cases and adds vaccines are the best way to prevent the spread of the disease. Mumps is spread through coughing or sneezing and symptoms include fever, headaches, and muscle aches. Symptoms can take several week to appear after exposure.
