County leading the way in attracting college grads

New population data shows St. Clair County is leading the way in attracting college students to return home. Dan Casey, CEO of the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, says on a per-capita basis the county has the highest net-migration of young people moving back to the area after college at 1.6%. Casey says numerous factors, including the St. Clair County Community Foundation’s reverse scholarship program, have contributed to the increase in migration. Speaking to WPHM this week, he says many young people are choosing where they want to live before they find a job. He adds that the and that the Blue Water Area is uniquely situated as we have a lot to offer as far as recreation and a small town atmosphere while still being close to the metro Detroit area.
