Gas prices continue to rise

Gas prices in Michigan are up a nickle over the past week, according to the latest gas price brief by AAA of Michigan. The auto club says the current statewide average daily gas prices is $2.88 a gallon, which is six cents more than a week ago, five cents more than last month, and three cents more than the same time last year. The most expensive gas in the state can be found in the Northern Lower and across the Upper Peninsula. The cheapest fuel is available in the Detroit and Flint areas. Across the region, pumps in Macomb and Lapeer Counties are, on average, $2.86 a gallon. Sanilac County pumps are at $2.88, and St. Clair County Pumps are asking $2.85 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded.
