Suspects in Brown City shooting arrested

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department is reporting the arrest of two suspects in connection to a shooting in Brown City. This past Monday, Sheriff’s deputies received a complaint of shots fired near Downtown Brown City where several bullets struck a house. The home was occupied by five people at the time and there were no injuries. An investigation into the shooting lead to a traffic stop in Lapeer County that was executed by Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Imlay City Police. A 19 and 20 year old man were arrested and a search warrant house for their home in Lapeer County’s Goodland Township was issued. Authorities searched the home this past Thursday and discovered the firearm suspected in the shooting and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The suspects are currently lodged in the Lapeer County Jail.
