Passenger rail service to and from Port Huron is still being provided despite a derailment just east the Port Huron Station in CN’s St. Clair Tunnel. According to Amtrak Spokesman Marc Magliari, the Blue Water may experience increased delays due to backed up fright traffic on the line from Port Huron to Chicago, but passenger service is still being provided. Getting to the Port Huron Station, however, may be a bit more difficult. 16th Street is expected to be closed for the foreseeable future as CN works to clear a derailment inside the St. Clair Tunnel.  Thirty to forty freight cars derailed early this morning and has caused congestion on the freight train system throughout the region.
