Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is in Israel this week for her first international trade mission. The six day trip will take the Governor to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Bethlehem to meet with government, business and non-profit leaders. The Governor’s office says Whitmer is hoping to strengthen relationships and build business ties with startups and mobility companies to help the state compete for good-paying, high tech jobs. While in Israel, Governor Whitmer will also participate in the Water Technology and Environmental Control Conference, and visit General Motors Advanced Technical Center and William Davidson Archaeological Park. The trip was put together after an invite from the Israeli government. It is hosted by the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit in coordination with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
