Port Huron City Council will reconvene for a regular session meeting this evening. Council members will be holding a public hearing tonight to hear comments on a Special Use Permit request for a home-based Federal Firearms License business in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street. Following the hearing, City Council will determine whether or not they will allow the firearms sales permit. City council could also green-light three rezoning ordinances this evening. Those include requests to rezone the former First Congregational Church to allow a medical center, the former Smith Family Funeral home to allow apartments, and a vacant lot on Desmond Landing from industrial to central business district. Tonight’s meeting will be held at 7pm at the Municipal Office Center.
