School threats lead to suspect’s arrest

Port Huron Police arrested a 32 year old man from Ohio Wednesday morning following threats made against a local elementary school. Assistant Police Chief Marcy Kuehn tells WPHM the suspect called St. Clair County Central Dispatch several times stating he would set fire to Cleveland Elementary School and shoot police officers. Kuehn says the call was traced to a location in the 2700 block of Nern Street in the City of Port Huron. “He attempted to run and fight, so the officers actually deployed a taser,” said Kuehn. The name of the suspect is currently being withed pending arraignment. He is currently being held without bond in the St. Clair County Jail. He is xpected to face charges including making a terrorist threat and resisting and obstructing police. Cleveland Elementary was placed on a brief lock down Wednesday morning as a precaution.
