Two arrested following weekend police chase in Lapeer County

Sheriff’s deputies in Lapeer County are releasing details about a  nearly 25-mile long pursuit in excess of 100 miles per hour over the past weekend. On Saturday evening, police received a call about a car driving at excessive speeds and disregarding several traffic signals in the City of Lapeer. Officers from multiple agencies entered into a pursuit with the vehicle on Bowers Road when the vehicle failed to yield and increased in speed to up to 120 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. The pursuit lasted approximately 24 miles with the suspect’s car eventually entering a ditch in the area of Burnside and Lake Pleasant Road near north branch. The driver is believed to be 20 year old Bryan Sorby of North Branch who also had a passenger, 18 year old Adam Kreiner form North Branch. The driver was arrested and is facing fleeing, resisting arrest, and operating while intoxicated charges. His passenger is also charged with resisting arrest.
