St. Clair County Commissioners are expected to discuss Dr. Annette Mercatante’s contract as Medical Health Officer during their regular session meeting this evening. Due to what is expected to be a larger than normal turnout, tonight’s meeting will take place at the Blue Water Convention Center in Port Huron and will begin at 6pm. The meeting comes following public outcry regarding an order to wear masks in public school buildings. Masks are still ordered in all St. Clair County schools for at least 8 more days. Speaking to WPHM, Dr. Annette Mercatante says she still hasn’t decided whether or not to extend those orders past the current January 28th deadline. She says the number cases and testing positivity rate will play a large factor into that decision
