A shooting near Brown City results in a suspect being killed and a sheriff’s deputy inured. It happened in Sanilac County’s Burnside Township shortly before 9:30am Wednesday morning when two sheriff’s deputies from the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department were executing a warrant for a suspect at a home on Willis Road. The homeowner allowed authorities to search the property including a detached outbuilding. When opening the door to the building, the suspect, 47 year old Robert Rayman of Imlay City, is said to have opened fire on the deputies. One deputy was struck and is recovering from a gunshot wound at a Flint area hospital. The other deputy was not shot but did sustain non-life threatening injures. Raymond, who was wanted on criminal sexual conduct charges, was shot by one of the deputies and was pronounced dead at the scene.
