Gas prices fall slightly over the past week

The price of a gallon of gasoline in Michigan is a coupe pennies less than last week. According to AAA, the statewide average is $4.14 a gallon, down two cents compared to a week ago. That’s still 64 cents more than this time last month and a $1.47 more than this time last year. Compared to last week, Metro Detroit’s average daily gas price increased slightly. The most expensive fuel however can be found in the Northern Lower and Upper Peninsulas, the cheapest fuel remains on the west side of the state in the Grand Rapids area. Port Huron area pumps as of this morning are asking $4.18 a gallon for regular unleaded.
