The new year will bring some orange barrels to nearly every corner of St. Clair County. Kirk Weston, Managing director of the St. Clair County Road Commission tells WPHM that crews will continue resurfacing work on several area roadways. They include Wadhams Road in St. Clair Township, Capac Road in Berlin Township, and a portion of North River Road in Clyde Township. Weston also says a new roundabout is slated to be installed at the intersection of Gratiot and Palms Roads in Columbus Township.

St. Clair County’s Road Commission Director says the county is in good shape when it comes to salt stockpiles. Kirk Weston tells WPHM that salt usage has been below average due in part to the lack of snowfall, but not as low as you might think. “When we have these smaller storms like we do… and we have to reapply (salt) several times throughout the storm, we actually use more salt,” said Weston. He says salt usage in the county is currently just below the 5 and 10 year averages.
