Multiple road resurfacing projects get underway this week

A road construction project along a major artery in Port Huron begins Tuesday. Lapeer Avenue, between 7th and 10th Streets will be resurfaced in the City of Port Huron. According to the Department of Public Works, the improvements will include new asphalt, curbs, sidewalks, and drive approaches. Funding for the project will come from the Water Street Tax Increment Fund District and the voter approved streets millage. The work is expected to last through the end of June.

The St. Clair County Road Commission will also be busy this week with a handful of road construction projects. There will be intermittent lane closures in Clyde and Grant Townships along North Road between M-136 and Burch Road for resurfacing work this week. In East China and China Townships, Bree Road and St. Clair Highways will also see temporary lane closures for resurfacing between King Road and the City of St. Clair. In Port Huron and Kimball Townships, Range Road will will be resurfaced between Dove and Gratiot Roads. Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures.
