Work on St. Clair County’s newest roundabout will begin Monday. According to the St. Clair County Road Commission, the roundabout will be installed at Palms and Gratiot Roads in Columbus Township. The project will result in a full closure of both Palms and Gratiot for approximately 40 days in order to allow construction to occur. The posted detour for Gratiot will involve Wadhams Road, I-94, and Division. Traffic on Palms will be diverted to Rattle Run, Mayer, and Big Hand roads. The project is expected to cost approximately $950,000 dollars and is being funded by a combination of local, state, and federal funds.
