If you’re looking for a change in careers, you may want to stop by the Port Huron Area School District administration building Wednesday morning. Between 8am and Noon, the district will be hosting a job fair in order to fill staffing vacancies before the start of the school year. Theo Kerhoulas, Superintendent of Port Huron Schools, tells WPHM the district has been able to fill many teaching vacancies however substitute teachers are still in high demand. Substitutes are required to have completed 60 college credits hours, equivalent to a two-year degree. The district is also hiring custodians, lunch supervisors, and kitchen assistants for both full and part time work. If you are heading to today’s job fair, you are asked to bring identification with you and also complete an application in advance, which can be found online at phasd.us.
