Work continues on a new mixed use building in Downtown Port Huron, housing commercial and event space on the first floor, and three stories of lofts above. Developer Larry Jones, speaking to our Paul Miller, says the former Art Van building is beginning to take shape and is on track to open later next year.

“We have 36 tenants that are going to be living there, plus all their friends and family that they bring into town,” said Jones. “That’s going to support some of the shops, the bakery, the candy store, the rock climbing wall, and other restaurants that are in our downtown.”

Jones says the name “Wrigley Center” comes from a grocery store that formerly occupied part of the property. Additionally, the building will feature a venue for concerts, rooftop bar, and a marketplace area for vendors. He says despite some setbacks due to material and labor shortages, he hopes for the building to be open late next summer.
