Fire reported at ZF plant in Marysville

Crews responded to a fire at the ZF Axel plant in Marysville early Wednesday morning. According to Marysville Fire Department Shift Captain Keith Wayburn, the call was made shortly after 3am after sprinkler heads were activated at the Davis Road facility. Wayburn says when crews arrived, the found a 400 to 500 square foot section of the roof on fire. Much of it was able to be put out by portable extinguishers. Wayburn adds that the tower on one of the fire trucks was also raise to help fight the flames. The plant was evacuated as a precaution, no injuries were reported. He says the source of the fire is under investigation but did not describe it as suspicious.
