The City of Marysville has completed it’s acquisition of another parcel of property adjacent to Morton Park. The City recently announced that it will purchase a house-turned-insurance agency at 502 Busha Highway for $210,000. Marysville Mayor Wayne Pyden tells WPHM that the city’s attention will now shift to “repurposing” the building. He says it could be used to house museum artifacts, office space, or changing rooms for the nearby SC4 soccer complex.

In other Marysville parks news, work on a $225,000 project to rehab the seawall and stairs at Mermaid Park is nearly complete.  Mayor Wayne Pyden says the park on Gratiot Boulevard is a favorite among anglers and has been in a state of disrepair for some time. The city received $100,000 dollars from Enbridge Energy to help with the project. In addition to fixing the seawall and the steps, Pyden says there will be more work done this spring including landscaping and new park benches.
