Another local hospital is reimplementing visitor restrictions due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. Effective Thursday, McLaren Port Huron will not allow visitors into the hospital with a few exceptions. ICU, obstetrics, pediatric, and mental patients will be allowed to have one visitor between the hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. They will be screened for symptoms of the coronavirus and must wear a mask at all times.

Patients scheduled for surgery or procedures may also have one visitor, who is expected to leave as soon as possible after surgery. McLaren Port Huron says exceptions to the visitation policy will be made for end of life care. Additionally, the hospital says no visitors will be allowed in rooms of patients with pending or positive COVID-19 tests, including the emergency department.
