A 46 year old Port Huron man is in custody following the death of a 33 year old Port Huron woman New Year’s Day. Port Huron Police officers were called to a home in the 2700 block of Vanness Street around 5:45am Saturday on reports of a dead body found in a parked vehicle. Around 11am, the Port Huron Police Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2600 block Manuel Street in Port Huron. The suspect was interviewed by authorities and was booked in the St. Clair County Jail on charges of open murder. The victim’s body was turned over to the St. Clair County Medical Examiner’s Office and is pending identification.
