The St. Clair County Health Department will be suspending rapid antigen testing for COVID-19. The health department says temporary supply limitations means no new rapid COVID-19 testing appointments and rapid tests will be allowed until further notice. All previously scheduled appointments will be honored. The more accurate but longer wait time molecular PCR test remains available at the health department, with officials saying lab results will be returned to the client between 48 and 72 hours. COVID-19 testing locations can be found on the health department’s website www.scchealth.co. Due to a high call volume, the health department says it could take up to two days to return a phone call and that the fastest way to make an appointment or ask a question is to use their web site.
