The price of a gallon of gasoline is about two pennies less than it was a week ago. According to AAA of Michigan, prices are on average $3.22 a gallon for regular unleaded, about two cents less than last week and 82 cents more than this time last year. A full 15-gallon tank of gasoline will cost you approximately $48 this week in Michigan. Tensions between Russia and Ukraine helped push the global price of a barrel of oil up this past week, and any sanctions against Russia could drive prices higher, according to the auto club. The most expensive gas in Michigan can be found in the central Upper Peninsula, and the lowest prices are in the northwest Lower Peninsula. Locally pumps in St. Clair County are right around the statewide average of $3.22 a gallon.
