Thomas named Community Development Administrator

Port Huron has a new Community Development Program Administrator. City Manager James Freed Friday has named Jazmyn Thomas to the position which will be charged with administering block grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funds. Thomas comes to the City of Port Huron from Macomb County where she was a grant administrator. She was previously an intern with Port Huron’s community development office. Thomas graduated from Michigan State with a bachelor’s degree in 2014 and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Oakland University in 2017. City Manager James Freed described her as a, “Rising star in public policy,” who grew up here and, “Understands the needs of our community.”
