Much of southern lower Michigan is preparing for what is expected to be the largest snow storm so far this season. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch that will take effect around 4am Wednesday morning and last through 11pm Thursday night.

“Rain develops overnight and then that transitions over to snow through the morning period,” National Weather Service Meteorologist Michael Richter told WPHM Tuesday morning. “Really the accumulation will start around daybreak and through the morning commute, and will pick up intensity through the day Wednesday.”

Accumulations between 8 to 14 inches are expected along the I-69 corridor and points south in Michigan over the course of about two days.
