Local cases trend downwards after reaching Omicron peak

St. Clair County’s COVID-19 caseload has fallen over 80-percent from this time last month. The St. Clair County Health Department is reporting 446 new cases and 13 additional deaths for the week ending Friday, February 11th.  The county was averaging over 350 new cases per day during the peak of the Omicron wave in Mid-January. Now the average is about 64 new cases per day. The county’s positivity rate has also also declined, from over 25-percent last week to 19.3-percent this week. The county’s vaccination rate is up, last week 55.5-percent of all county residents were vaccinated, this week it’s 56-percent.
