The Canada Border Services Agency and Royal Canadian Mounted Police are releasing information about an attempt to smuggle narcotics at the Blue Water Bridge earlier this year. Officers say a commercial truck attempting to enter Canada at Point Edward was referred to a secondary inspection January 13th. Several large garbage bags and spare tires were found in the vehicle which upon further inspection were found to contain narcotics. A total of approximately 265 kilograms or 584 pounds of heroin, pink cocaine, and methamphetamines were seized. The suspect, 23 year-old Arshdeep Singh of Quebec City, Quebec is facing multiple charges related to the trafficking and importation of controlled substances.
