Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in a crash near Lexington yesterday afternoon that injured a 38 year old woman and her 4 year old daughter. It happened shortly before 2:30pm Wednesday on South Lakeshore Road near Mortimer Line Road in Sanilac County’s Worth Township. Sheriff’s Deputies say the woman was driving a Jeep southbound when she crossed the center line and struck a northbound Tri-Hospital EMS ambulance. The occupants of the ambulance – including two paramedics, a volunteer, and a patient – were not injured in the crash. The woman and child were transported by Croswell EMS to a Port Huron hospital for treatment of undisclosed injures. The woman driving the jeep is suspected of being under the influence and the incident will be referred to the Sanilac County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for their review and any potential charges.
