Local health departments are announcing the availability of the second booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for those who are eligible. Both the St. Clair and Sanilac County Health Departments are now accepting appointments from adults age 50 and over and some immunocompromised individuals for the second Pfizer or Moderna booster. In St. Clair County, appointments can be made online at scchealth.co or by calling 987-5300. In Sanilac County, vaccine clinics will begin Thursday and registrations can be made sanilachealth.com or by calling 648-4098.
Over the course of the past week 100 new cases of the coronavirus and two additional deaths were reported by the St. Clair County Health Department. That’s up about 8 cases from the week prior however the testing positivity rate continues to decrease, down two tenths of a percent, to 4.4-percent. In Sanilac for the entire month of March, health officials there say only 51 cases of the coronavirus were reported.
