A Sunday morning crash near Lakeport has claimed the life of one. According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a single vehicle crash in the 4500 block of Burtch Road around 2:30am Sunday. Initial investigations suggest that the westbound vehicle left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree. The vehicle was being operated by a Clyde Township resident who’s identity has not been released. Tri-Hospital EMS and Burthchville Township Fire crews assisted at the scene of the crash which remains under investigation.
