Motorcyclist killed in Port Huron crash

A motorcyclist has died following a crash Tuesday morning at 16th and Chestnut Street in Port Huron. According to the Port Huron Police Department, the 37 year old motorcyclist traveling west on Chestnut failed to stop at a stop sign around 6:30am. He was struck by an SUV that was heading north on 16th driven by a 32 year old woman. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The intersection was closed for several hours yesterday morning and the incident remains under investigation.
