A Friday afternoon crash in Lapeer County’s Oregon Township has seriously injured a teenager. A 16 year old female from Lapeer was driving a sedan eastbound on Reamer Road east of Hayes road around 4pm Friday. Her vehicle is believed to have left the south side of the road, with the driver correcting herself, but then again swerved to the right, entered a ditch, and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on the driver’s side. The 16 year old was taken to an area hospital and later transferred to a Flint hospital where she was placed in intensive care with life threatening injuries. Police say neither speed or impairment are believed to be factors in the crash and that she was wearing her seatbelt.
