A second recreational mairjuana store could get approval tonight by the Port Huron Planning Commission. Ox Tail Incorporated is seeking a special use permit for a store to be located at the site of the Ernest Camera Shoppe in the 1600 block of Pine Grove Avenue. The request follows the approval last month for a store and consumption lounge located on River Street. Both stores were proposed several years ago and were granted provisional licenses by the city, however that process has been held up for the past two years after an injunction was issued over the enforcement of the city’s ordinance. That stay has since been lifted, but has since been appealed to a higher court. If approved by the planning commission tonight, the applicant will then need to seek approval from the state. The meeting takes place at 6pm at the Municipal Office Center.
