A Riley Township man could be facing charges after firing on St. Clair County sheriff deputies. According to the sheriff’s department, it happened Monday night when they were notified by coworkers of a 27-year-old man after he began making statements about suicide. Deputies confronted the individual at his home in which authorities say he pointed a rifle toward them and fired. The man was taken into custody after a brief negotiation. The Sheriff’s Office says deputies did not return fire and no one was injured in the standoff.
