Road work begins Monday in Wales Township which will see a bridge replaced at Goodells County Park. A combination of funds from The St. Clair County Road Commission, The Michigan Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration are financing the almost $700,000 needed to replace a bridge over the Pine River on County Park Drive. The project, which is expected to be finished in mid-October, involves replacing the bridge’s superstructure, deck, and guardrails, and repaving the bridge’s surface. During the closure, local traffic will need to seek an alternate route around, but will still be able to reach area homes, businesses, and the Goodells County Park.
