Bacteria may be present in the water supply after damage to a water main caused village-wide pressure loss on Monday. As a precaution, a boil water advisory is in effect until further notice. Crews are working to restore water pressure and will continue to test for contaminants. Capac officials estimate the advisory could be lifted within 48 hours but will notify residents when the water is safe to use again. Until then, water should not be used for drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, or preparing food unless it’s bottled or has been brought to a boil and allowed to cool.
