One is dead following a Sunday afternoon crash in Sanilac County. Sheriff’s deputies say a 71-year old man was attempting to turn into a driveway on Lakeshore Road near Applegate Road when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old woman. A Sanilac County deputy was on a call nearby when he heard the crash and rushed to the scene where he was assisted by good Samaritans. The woman was treated and taken to a Port Huron Area hospital and her son, who was in a car seat, was uninjured in the crash. Despite efforts on the scene, the 71-year-old was pronounced dead.
