After seven months of construction, Gratiot Avenue in Port Huron between Elmwood and Holland has finally reopened. Work included road reconstruction and repaving, replacing select sanitary and storm sewers, and upgrading sidewalks. The most noticeable change however are new bike lanes along either side of the roadway. The Port Huron Department of Public works says they appreciate the public’s patience during the project, which began in Mid-April.
