Authorities are investigating a bomb threat Tuesday at an area high school. The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department was called to Memphis Junior/Senior High School after they were informed by the National Suicide Hotline of a potential bomb threat at the school. The person who made the phone call claimed to have placed pressure cooker bombs in various men’s bathrooms. Students and faculty were immediately evacuated to the nearby elementary school while K9 units searched both buildings as a precaution. No explosives were found in either locations. Students returned to classes for the rest of the day and classes are expected to resume as normal Wednesday.
