MDOT seeks comments on Huron Ave construction

State transpiration officials want the public’s input when it comes to the eventual rebuilding of Port Huron’s main street. Huron Avenue, also known as the I-94 Business Loop, is slated for construction starting in 2026. As part of that project, MDOT will rebuild the entire street north of the Military Street Bridge to Glenwood Avenue. Options the public is asked to consider is if the road should be fully closed, resulting in a shorter timeline for construction, or if local traffic should be maintained, which could increase the duration of the project. Options are also given for what the road might look like when construction is complete, including an option to reduce traffic from two lanes in each direction to one lane. The online survey runs through Friday, May 3rd and can be viewed at this link.
