A single-vehicle crash in Sanilac County’s Worth Township has claimed the life of a 58-year-old man from Gary, Indiana. He was driving South on Wildcat Road near Wellman Line on Monday just before 5pm, when his vehicle veered off the road and went airborne before hitting several stationary objects. The vehicle finally came to a rest in a yard in the 8800 block of Wildcat Road. First responders freed the man from his vehicle when they arrived on the scene. He was then taken to a Port Huron area hospital, but did not survive his injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time after he arrived. Multiple agencies assisted in the rescue effort; Sanilac and St. Clair County Sheriff Deputies, Croswell and Grant Township Fire Departments, and both Croswell and Tri-hospital EMS. At this time, it’s unknown if excess speeds, intoxication, or health issues played any part in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
