More shake-ups on the race to be the next county commissioner in St. Clair County’s second district. Port Huron Councilman Jeff Pemberton has withdrawn his bid for the District 2 seat in order to support fellow incumbents who are all seeking reelection this year. Pemberton also announced his endorsement of former opponent, Ken Cummings,  for the Republican nomination in the second district.   Pemberton says shifting his campaign efforts will also allow him to continue his work supporting the Citizens for Local Choice ballot initiative. Set to face off for the County Commissioner District 2 seat in the August Primary are Republicans Ken Cummings, David Hoffman, Steve Tebay, Kerry Ann Ange. The second district includes three precincts in the City of Port Huron as well as Burtchville and Fort Gratiot Townships.
