Weekend events to celebrate cars, art

Art aficionados and car connoisseurs both have something to look forward to this weekend in the Blue Water Area. In Port Huron, it’s the return of the annual Art of the River festival, while Marysville holds their 31st annual car show.

Art on the River gets underway at 3pm Friday, and returns Saturday and Sunday. The family-friendly, three-day art and music festival features ceramics, photography, jewelry, fine art, and more. Over 30 artists are expected to set up along the shores of the St. Clair River this weekend. The festival until 11pm Friday, 10am to 11pm Saturday, and Sunday 10am to 4pm. The Blue Water Region Antique Automobile Club will be celebrating Marysville’s centennial Sunday during their annual car show. Nearly a hundred vehicles are expected for the event which runs from 9am until 3p, Sunday in Marysville Park. Lineup for participating vehicles begins at 8am, with registration costing $15 for non-judged vehicles or $20 to be entered for awards. More information can be found online at www.willsautomuseum.com.
