Another local community could be giving their main thoroughfare a diet. The Michigan Department of Transportation is looking for community feedback about a proposed street redesign in Marine City. MDOT is scheduling a resurfacing project next year on M-29 from Chartier Avenue to the Belle River bridge from two lanes in each direction down to one, but would also add a center turn lane to the traffic configuration. Anyone looking to hear more about the project of provide opinions to representatives from MDOT is welcome to attend an open house being held a week from tomorrow at the Marine City Hall on South Parker Street from 5pm until 7pm.
