Crews continue to work to restore power to thousands of people who lost power because of a wind storm on Saturday. Some 270,000 homes and businesses lost power statewide with that wind storm that packed up to 64 mile per hour winds, causing downed trees and power lines. Locally, DTE says over 85% of customers who lost power have had it restored. The remaining outage areas are estimated to be back on the grid by 10pm Monday night. DTE reminds you to stay at least 20 feet away from any downed power line and assume it’s live and dangerous.
