Now that we’re moving on from the first unofficial day of summer, more information is coming out about just how busy Sanilac County authorities were over the long Memorial Day weekend. Marine Patrols were conducted near Port Sanilac and Lexington Harbors with zero water related injuries reported or citations issued. However, Sheriff’s Deputies handled over 90 complaints over the weekend. They conducted 128 traffic stops, issued 24 tickets, and let over a hundred individuals off with verbal warnings. Lastly, deputies responded to eleven vehicle crashes, one of which was fatal.
