According to AAA this morning, the average price per gallon in St. Clair County is $3.55. Up from $3.43 at this time last week. That’s a hike of 12 cents per gallon for regular unleaded. The auto club contributes the increase in area pump prices to the rising cost of crude oil, even though fuel demand is down significantly this summer. Around the rest of Michigan, motorists are paying the most in Ann Arbor at $3.62 on average. While Marquette drivers are enjoying the state’s lowest fuel prices at $3.50 per gallon.
