A half dozen local boats will be bringing home some hardware from this year’s Bayview Mackinac Race. Finishing not only first and second in their class, but also first and second overall on corrected time on the shore course was Jeremy Thompson’s Trav’ler and Patrick Hoy’s Blue Eyes, both from the Port Huron Yacht Club.
On the Cove Island course, Port Huron’s Rowdy owned by Val Saph will take home a second place burgee in Class E, while top honors on that course will go to Bayview’s Fast Tango in Class F. Port Huron’s Full Tilt, 50/50, and Stalwart all finished third in their respective classes. The first boat across the line was around 2am Monday morning, and the final boat to finish was just before 11pm Monday evening.
