The Port Huron Police Department is inviting graduating high school seniors to participate in their cadet program. Port Huron Police cadets answer phones and man the front desk at the police department, take police reports, and help with parking enforcement. Sargent Doug Decker, speaking to WPHM this week, says cadets must be 18 years or older, high school graduates, have a drivers license, and plan to get a degree in law enforcement.  Decker adds that police cadets often the first interaction the public has with law enforcement and that the program has lead to many successful careers within the Port Huron Police Department.
