Gas prices reach new 2019 peak price

Gas prices in Michigan reached a 2019 record high price last week, according to AAA of Michigan. The auto club says this past Wednesday’s price for regular unleaded gasoline reached $2.83 a gallon and has since decreased to a current statewide average daily price of $2.78. That’s about 34-cents more than this time last month and about 10-cents more than this time last year. Across the state, the highest gas prices can be found in the Lansing and Jackson area where it’s $2.85 a gallon, while the cheapest gasoline is in the Marquette area where pumps are asking $2.71 a gallon. Across the local area, average prices in Lapeer County are $2.77 a gallon, while gas is $2.70 in Macomb, and St. Clair and Sanilac Counties are both asking $2.79 on average for a gallon of regular unleaded.
